OTHER WORKS BY ROBERT MCCORMICK
3 DANCES FOR SOLO TIMPANI
Alfred/Warner Bros. Publications and International Music Publications, 2003
These three dances were written and dedicated to my longtime friend Neil Grover.
The set is very melodic and while not technically difficult, they are
musically challenging and perhaps my most thoughtful composition.
32 DUETS FOR PERCUSSION
G. Schirmer, 1976
1976? OK, I needed something for the tenure file.
While this collection is out of print, I hope to re-write and add a few new ones.
Kendor Music, 1976
My teacher in Los Angeles, Forrest Clark was terrific at developing technique,
especially on snare drum. This etude should help develop stick control
and provides ample challenges for all.
FANFARE VARIATIONS FOR SOLO TIMPANI
Kendor Music, 1984
This may be my most popular work as it is very dramatic and just pure fun!
HOMAGE TO HARRY PARTCH
Kendor Music, 1976
I had the opportunity to work with Harry Partch at the invitation
of my wonderful teacher at the time, Danlee Mitchell. The work has had some
recent performances in Europe and is appropriate for recitals and solo festivals.
PERCUSSION FOR MUSICIANS
Alfred Music, 1983
These etudes seem to never go out of style. This compendium text continues to be a popular choice
for college methods courses; high school percussion classes etc. Very concise, well organized
and available at most retail sheet music stores for under $20.
PORTRAITS OF A WALTZ
This three movement Grade 6 snare drum solo was written in honor of my teacher Anthony
Cirone. It was the 1st place winner of the Keystone Percussion Composition Prize in 2006.
Recommended for state solo festival, college student or professional recitals.
Should you perform any of my works in recital, thank you and please let Bob know through the CONTACT page.
