MCCORMICK PERCUSSION GROUP
"That they succeed in providing us with a long program of definitive interest and atmospheric presence is a testament to the group and Robert McCormick's sympathetic and very creative artistry."
"The performers are unnervingly in step with each piece's different vibe. There is not one measure in anything they play that doesn't come magically alive, as if it were being heard in the composer's mind for the first exhilarating time."
(Gramophone, Feb. 2016)
“This in all is music that engrosses as it transcends boundaries. The McCormick Percussion Group is first-rate in every way and they shine forth brightly here in a program that will appeal to anyone with an open mind. Kudos!”
“Robert McCormick is a force of nature. Thank you for seeking out innovative composers and the continued effort to provide the percussion community with valuable and contributive recordings.”
(John Lane-Percussive Notes)
“These compositions present music that is loud and abrasive, soft and subtle, and sometimes extremely complex. ……this album is adventurous, peculiar and very, very different.”
“MPG is a very accomplished ensemble that performs….with finesse, virtuosity, and enthusiasm…….”
